Training Overview
What is Maximizing Airport Revenues about?
With passenger numbers reducing by over 60% in 2020, and airport revenues falling by $125bn, diversification has become a hot topic in the aviation industry. The summit will focus on ability to adapt, innovate and rebound, gathering world’s leading airports’ commercial experts IN PERSON.
Discussions will include lessons learnt from overcoming challenges through innovative approaches and pragmatic strategies. As the IATA now expects pax numbers in 2023 to be 105% of 2019, it is of utmost importance to have the right non-aero revenue strategy to compete. We will be examining the main types of non-aeronautical offers that are considered by airports to generate revenue, each requiring different existing assets and infrastructure to encourage additional non-passenger footfall to the airport, including Office and mixed-use, Commercial and Transportation. The training will evaluate each of the offers and the role that the commercial offer (retail, F&B and services) can play.
The future non-aero revenues will see biometric processing, frictionless parking, contactless payments, click & collect advancements and more focus on wellness. Airports need to work in partnership with Operations teams and Terminal Retailers to identify gaps in the market (examples include promoting pre-packaged meals for purchase prior to boarding when airlines cut back on in-flight meals, or with increased focus on wellness, there are more opportunities to market covid-safe hygiene packages etc.)
Airport Executives in attendance include such functions as Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Property & Strategy. Interrelated functions such as Marketing, Route Development and Operations would also benefit from this training.
