The disruption caused by drones in European airports is usually deliberate. The airports are now ensuring their full preparedness to manage any possible incidents. Civil Aviation Authority and the police are to make sure that the airports are fully prepared to deal with the disruptions. There are new policies and rules that will help to ensure effective enforcement of the rules to travel without fear of their trips being disrupted by malicious drone use.

if birds can bring down an aircraft why couldn't a drone? If a drone gets anywhere near the engine it'll likely get sucked in and do massive amounts of damage which will destroy it. Airplanes are designed to continue flying with only one engine, and that works well mid-flight at high altitude. In the UK, there are a series of serious near-misses. Last October, Virgin Atlantic plane was just 10ft away from hitting a drone which was a definite risk of collision and last April, there was a Category A incident reported at Stansted airport whereby an aircraft is believed to have hit a drone while in midair
